BTCC wins the Players Challenge Trophy for the 5th consecutive year

BTTC Golds won the NJ-USSC  for the 5th consecutive time to retain the “Players Challenge Trophy”.  The 5th annual encounter  between Boston and New Jersey was held on the 3rd of July.

USSC won the toss and requested BTCC to bat first. BTCC Golds put up a reasonable target of 89 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 16 overs.  BTCC opening batsman Bawan scored an unbeaten 28 while Nishan gave a solid partnership scoring 18 runs from his own bat.

Chasing 89 USSC initially struggled in keeping up to the required run rate while constantly loosing wickets.  Senthuran bowled an excellent spell of 4 overs  with 1 maiden just giving 12 runs. Match came to a point where New Jersey needed only 7 runs from the last over. BTTC captain handed the match deciding over to Jana and he stood up in bringing the victory for BTCC restricting New Jersey for only one run in the last over. Bawan, Nishan and Jana captured 2 wickets per head. BTCC won by 6 runs at the end to claim the “Players Challenge Trophy”.

Steady batting from Bawan was rewarded with the “Best Batsman” award.  Nishan was judged as the “Best All Rounder” of the game. Senthuran was announced as the  “Man of the Match” for his economic bowling performance.

In the second match BTTC-Reds chased a target of 108 and lost by 29 runs. Gajan performed well with bat and ball, scoring 25 runs and capturing 4 wickets to win both “Best Batsman” and “Best Bowler” awards.
