Double Wicket Tournament –2011

 

 

 

Double wicket tournament brings on the momentum on players as expected. Ten teams entered the tournament and played with sportsmanship and full of talents.

Teams were divided into two groups and played round robin within the group. Top two teams advanced to the semi-finals. Group A champion Kumar & Jana played the Group B runner-up Sage & Senthuran in the first semifinal, while Group B champion Bawan & Sri played the Group A runner-up Sugu & Niru.

Ruban-Jana and Bawan-Sri advanced to the finals, where Ruban-Jana emerged as the Champions.

 

Throughout the tournament outstanding fielders were nominated for each match and best three were awarded with the Out Standing Fielder award for the tournament. Gajan, Sage and Senthuran won the outstanding fielder award.

Gajan was selected as outstanding fielder in 9 matches in the tournament for his excellent and consistent fielding performance.

 

Hope the sprit and competiveness the players showed this week will continue next week for the Galaxy Tournament.
